Long Point Property Owners' Association
Access & Liability Information

Dear Long Point Homeowners,

The Long Point pool area and tennis courts have an access system installed for security and ease of use. The gates are opened with magnetic fobs. These fobs have several features that will enable us to provide secure access to our facility and are designed to fit on your keychain or lanyard. Your assigned fobs are linked to your household, so please do not share them with others. Each household in good standing with HOA dues and with zero active covenant violations originally received two fobs. Additional fobs can be purchased for $20 each.

To have access to these areas, you must have a signed waiver on file. The waiver can be completed online. It is preferred that these be sent electronically via this website or you can download, sign, scan, and email it to longpointpoa@gmail.com, or turn originals in at the gatehouse.

It is IMPORTANT to note: you will only be allowed access to the common areas if you sign and return the waiver. Those under 18 may not be in the pool area during unguarded hours without a parent or guardian present.

Sincerely,

The Long Point Property Owners' Board of Directors

Community Areas are the Pool area, including pavilion, tennis courts, playground and dock area. Hours for access to the pool area are 6:00 am - 10:00 pm. All other areas are not to be accessed after dark.

If your HOA dues are unpaid or you have uncorrected violations of covenant issues, you do not have the right to use the amenities and your key fob access will be stopped after notification. Once your account is paid in full, your access will be restored.

IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AT THE POOL, DIAL 911 FROM THE POOL PHONE IMMEDIATELY!

By order of Chatham County Health Department all members and guests must adhere to the pool rules. If a violation is cited, it may cause the pool to close for an extended period of time and may result in suspension of privileges.

  1. NO GLASS CONTAINERS ALLOWED IN THE POOL OR DECK AREA! Broken glass in the pool may cause the pool to close for as long as a week. The homeowner responsible may incur costs (generally $1,000+) associated with the draining and re-filling of the pool.

  2. THE DOOR & GATES TO THE POOL AREA MUST REMAIN CLOSED AT ALL TIMES. Do not prop the door open in any way! This poses a very real danger to our young residents. Do not allow someone who does not have a fob. Your fob access will be turned off if you do not pay your HOA assessments ("dues"). SWIMMING AFTER DARK IS NOT PERMITED.

  3. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES.

  4. Training pants with snug-fitting rubber pants or the newly designed swim diapers are required for any infant/child not toilet trained. "Swim diapers" are not sufficient. Fecal contamination will cause the pool to close for 24 hours while water treatment is conducted. The association reserves the right to charge owners responsible for the cost of water treatment and clean up.

The following RULES & REGULATIONS are for the protection of the community and to help ensure that every family enjoys the common areas. Please act in a way that will not negatively impact your neighbors' time in the common areas.

  1. Respect other residents and their guests. If something dangerous or disturbing is occurring, please use common sense. Not all behaviors that should be avoided at the pool can be written here. Board members, community management and pool management company staff (lifeguards) have the right to ask anyone to leave the pool at any time at their sole discretion.

  2. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an authorized person 18 years or older. During unguarded hours, those under 18 may not be in the pool area without a parent present, and that parent must have a signed waiver on file with the HOA. All adult household members must be registered using the HOA form.

  3. Guests must be accompanied by a homeowner. The homeowner is responsible for the conduct of their guests. You must limit the number of guests to 5 per visit (including all guests, even children and those who will not be swimming) during guarded hours. If you see people inside the pool area that are not residents of Long Point and are not accompanied by a resident, please notify the lifeguard or contact police if during unguarded hours. THIS MEANS POOL PARTIES ARE NOT PERMITTED AT LONG POINT WITHOUT FORMS REQUESTING A PARTY AND PAYMENT FOR RENTAL AND/OR LIFEGUARDS!

  6. Umbrellas must be closed before you leave the area. Strong gusts of wind may cause damage to the umbrellas.

  7. The final ten minutes of every hour (including before closing) will be designated as adult or adults with infants swim. Persons under the age of 18 must exit the pool at this time.

  8. Intoxicated person will be asked to leave by the lifeguard or the police.
